About This SiteWelcome to Hartzler.net! This domain exists to provide internet services for the Hartzler family. This site contains a loose collection of items that are or were of interest to one of us at some point or another.These pages are hand crafted using VIM on Debian Linux. While I do also use a mac, and the new iWeb stuff looks pretty cool, my take is that for these pages simpler is better. "Simpler is better" also explains why I try to avoid Javascript. I do think JS has a place, and some of its uses (AJAX for instance) are nothing short of amazing. But on the other hand, for simple pages with simple content, I'd rather create pages that can be read in any browser. The site consistency/code re-use is handled through server-side includes.
